Stop Buying Ginger! Here’s How to Grow It in Infinite Quantities at Home!

To grow this plant at home, which can be ground and flavored meat, it is necessary to have pots. This plant with its delicate scents, which can also flavor soups, can be grown easily, provided that the steps are scrupulously followed. By following them, you will easily know how to grow this perennial plant that you can water indoors.

Start by soaking the root of this rhizome in a glass of lukewarm water overnight. It is best to use organic ginger root which will be free of any chemicals.
In a large pot that you will fill 3 quarters full with soil, place the ginger root with the bud facing upwards.
3 – AFTER PLANTING THE GINGER
Once the rhizome is planted, place the pot in a bright, warm room but not in direct sunlight. Ginger is a semi-shade tropical plant that appreciates temperatures around 25°C.

Water moderately until the first leaves emerge because the rhizome risks rotting from excess water, then you can water more regularly so that the soil never dries out more than 3 cm in its upper part. Never let water stagnate in the saucer.

Add a little organic fertilizer every 15 days during the growing season. If the heat and light are sufficient you may be lucky enough to see your plant flower.

In the ground, you can place the rhizome under a cover to increase the heat while the first leaves develop. Then water regularly to keep the soil always fresh. Add compost to the base of your plant once a month throughout the summer.

4 – HARVEST THE GINGER
You will soon be able to harvest the first ginger roots.

To do this, lift the soil a little to find rhizomes underneath. What are rhizomes? These are the underground parts of the stem.

Cut the desired amount from the edges of the pot, and replace the soil afterwards.
