Sandwich Tacos

8 slices of your favorite bread (white, whole wheat, etc.)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup sliced ​​black olives (optional)

STEP 1: COOK THE TACO MEAT

1.Brown the meat: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute the ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the meat is browned and the onions are soft, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off excess fat.

Add seasoning: Add taco seasoning and water. Reduce heat to low and simmer until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.Put aside.
STEP 2: PREPARE SANDWICH COMPONENTS

Toast the Bread: Lightly toast the bread slices so they become a little crispy and don’t get soggy with the taco filling.
Chop the lettuce: Wash and chop the lettuce.Put aside.
Prepare additional toppings: grate the cheese, dice the tomatoes and chop the olives if necessary. Prepare any other dressing you like.
STEP 3: ASSEMBLY THE SANDWICH TACOS

1.Add Taco Meat: Place a generous amount of the taco meat mixture on a slice of toasted bread.

Add toppings: Layer grated lettuce, cheese, diced tomatoes and any other toppings on top.

Close the sandwich: Cover with another slice of toast. Press down gently.
