Salisbury Steak with Onion Gravy

Instructions:

Prepare the Steaks:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix until well combined, then form into patties (about 4-6 patties depending on size).
Cook the Steaks:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Remove from skillet and set aside.
Make the Gravy:
In the same skillet, add butter and onions. Cook until onions are soft and golden brown.
Add garlic and cook for another minute.
Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the gravy thicken slightly.
Combine:
Return the patties to the skillet, spooning some gravy over each.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve:

Serve hot with mashed potatoes and vegetables, such as asparagus, on the side.
