Making the Mummy: While the meat is cooling, slice the crescent roll into long strips. Wrap the meatballs with the dough strips, criss-crossing, leaving space for the eyes. Place on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake until golden brown. Remove from the oven.

Use warm marinara sauce to stick the eyes in place. Serve with additional sauce for dipping.

Tips and Tricks for Making Meatball Mummies
Store leftovers in the fridge for 2 days. To reheat the meatball mummies, place in the oven until heated through. You can also reheat in the microwave but the crescent roll might be soft and feel soggy.
Want to swap the meat? If you do not like to use ground beef, you can use any type of ground meat you prefer. You can use ground pork, chicken, turkey, veal, lamb or any combination you prefer. You can even make these vegetarian by using premade meatless meatballs. In that case, you will use the dough to hold two meat balls together. Because of the crescent roll dough, it will not be vegan, however.
Use a sharp pizza cutter when cutting the thin strips to make cutting the crescent dough easier.
If you do not have crescent dough or do not like it, you can also use pizza dough.
Add mozzarella string cheese to the meatballs for an added twist.
If you have a favorite meatball recipe, with your favorite seasoning, you can change the seasoning to your preferences.
Don’t like candy eyes, you can swap the candy for diced-up olives for eyes.
