1 premade pie crust
1 c milk
1 c light cream
1/2 c sugar
2 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp corn starch
2 lg eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c sweetened, flaked coconut
8 oz whipped cream
How To Make great grandma’s coconut cream pie
01.Bake pie crust according to the directions on the package and cool completely.
02.Place milk and light cream in a double boiler. If you can’t find light cream, combine 3 Tbsp room-temperature melted butter and 1 scant cup of whole milk.
03.Add sugar and bring to a boil.
04.Add 2 Tbsp cold water to corn starch. Stir well.
05.In a bowl, beat egg yolks until they are light.
