CLASSIC CHERRY DELIGHT

1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling (or use homemade)
Optional Toppings:

Whipped cream
Chopped nuts (e.g., almonds or pecans)
Instructions:

Prepare the Crust:
In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated with the butter and sugar.
Assemble the Crust Layer:
Press the graham cracker mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish to form the crust. Use the back of a spoon or a measuring cup to compact it.
Prepare the Creamy Filling:

In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it’s smooth and creamy.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, mixing until well combined.
Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and no streaks remain.
Assemble the Layers:
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust in the baking dish.
Add the Cherry Layer:
Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.
