EASY CHEESEBURGER SLIDERS

Here in the Midwest, we call them sliders.  Depending on where else you are from you might have a different name:  mini burgers, party burgers, tailgaters, baby burgers, or even bite-sized burgers.  While the name may differ, the concept is the same: a small, delicious burger that packs a big punch of flavor. Whatever you call them, cheeseburger sliders are a fun and tasty way to enjoy a classic American dish.

Cheeseburger sliders are one of my favorite comfort foods. They offer all the classic flavors of a cheeseburger in a smaller, more convenient package.  These cheeseburger sliders are deliciously cheesy.  The combination of melted cheese and juicy beef is unbeatable.  Perhaps you would prefer cheddar, American, or Swiss, (or all three)  the cheese adds a rich and savory flavor to the burger. It oozes out of the sides of the slider, making each bite a cheesy, gooey delight.

Cheeseburger sliders are easy to customize, no matter what your preferences or tastes may be.  You can add all your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles, to create your perfect burger. You can also experiment with different sauces, like ketchup, mustard, or mayo (maybe even your own super secret homemade burger sauce), to add extra flavor to the burger.  The options are endless, making cheeseburger sliders a fun and versatile meal that you can customize to your own tastes or as a blank canvas with options to feed the masses.

These cheeseburger sliders could not be any easier to make. You can use King’s Hawaiian rolls to create the perfect-size burger. Simply cook up some ground beef, add some seasoning, and assemble the sliders with your preferred toppings and cheese. In less than 30 minutes, you’ll have a delicious and satisfying meal.

These sliders are perfect for sharing. They are a great option for parties, game nights, or family dinners. You can create a DIY slider bar with a variety of toppings and sauces, allowing everyone to customize their own burger. This makes for a fun and varied meal that everyone can enjoy.

Another great reason to give these cheeseburger sliders a try is that you don’t need many ingredients to get the job done.  You will need one pound of ground beef and one chopped onion (I like adding Kinder’s Caramelized Onion seasoning to my ground beef).   A package of King’s Hawaiian rolls and your favorite burger cheeses (I like White American and Colby Jack cheese on mine).  Whatever burger toppings you would also like, you can’t go wrong with pickles.  You will need two tablespoons of butter and some sesame seeds, along with salt, pepper, and garlic to season.  I like to use Thousand Island Dressing for burger sauce or you can make your own.

If you can assemble a cheeseburger, then you are able to make these sliders.  Start by taking one pound of ground beef and browning that in a skillet.  Add in one diced onion and season with salt, pepper, and garlic to taste.  I also like to add in some Kinder’s Carmalized Onion seasoning for that extra burst of flavor.  Cook meat until browned and drain any excess grease from the skillet.  Take your King’s Hawaiian rolls out of the package and slice them in half (Pro tip, if you keep your knuckles on the cutting board as you cut your rolls will be cut evenly!)  Place the bottoms of the rolls into a greased baking dish or a sheet pan.

Time to start assembling the sliders!  Add a layer of white American cheese to the bottom buns.  Then layer the ground beef and onions on top of the first layer of cheese.  Drizzle some thousand island dressing or burger sauce over the top of the beef and add another layer of Colby Jack cheese.  (It does sound like a lot of cheese, but we love cheese in the midwest and it also helps hold the burger together.)  Add some pickles and place the tops of the rolls onto sliders and brush with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.  Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top so they look extra fancy.

These siders then go into a 350-degree oven for around 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.  Be sure to experiment with different dips and toppings to put your own spin on these sliders.

Cheeseburger sliders are a delicious, customizable, easy-to-make, and shareable meal that I absolutely love. Whether I’m in the mood for a quick and satisfying dinner or a fun party food, cheeseburger sliders always hit the spot.   Take them to your next event and let everyone know that these are your signature sliders!
