Best Caprese Pasta Salad

1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
For the Balsamic Glaze:
1/2 cup (120ml) balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Pasta:

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool it down. Set aside.

2. Preparing the Balsamic Glaze:

Make the Balsamic Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey (or brown sugar). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture is reduced by half and has a syrupy consistency. Remove from heat and let it cool.
