Chocolate Nut Layer Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water.
For the Filling:
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
For the Topping:
1 cup chopped mixed nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds, etc.)
1/2 cup chocolate shavings.
